Apache has been the numero uno web server since a considerable amount of time, and just like WordPress, it had a near dominance in the web server community. Not that I resent it, but this kind of a dominance is not good for any domain. Now there is this budding star, Cherokee, that is pretty well shaping up to give apache a tough fight, or at least that is what people are saying here, here and here.

Btw, what is with web servers that attracts Latin American connect? Both Apache and Cherokee are from the American continents and the writer of Cherokee is a Spaniard, which again has very strong Latin American connections?

With most of the Estonian sites being written in the native language(Google Translator doesn’t really help), it might be mightily difficult for you to do a travel planning due to sheer lack of content. If you are stuck, try checking Lonely Planet – arguably the best Estonian information in English language.

Talking about mirrors for FOSS, I just realized there isn’t any mirror for PHP in Estonia. Is going to write to them tomorrow and see if they accept my mirror in their list of official mirrors. Will be fun, I guess.
